This is a strategic weapon of choice against the US. The Americans have built rings-of-fire and tripwires to encircle China. This means that they can fight in the front yard, door steps and all to way to the heartland of China.

With hypersonic missiles, the Chinese can leapfrog these rings-of-fire and tripwires which the Americans have encircle them with, and strike right at the US mainland.

Better still if these missiles can be fired from a satellite when it is right over the US.
