X to play 11

Players who have studied second-roll positions will know that if your
opponent opens with 13/9 6/5 and you roll 11, then the computer tells
you to hit. This position looks very similar, but one of the back
checkers has already escaped to the midpoint. That changes things.
With two checkers on the 24pt, moving 24/20 serves to split and
possibly make an advanced anchor. Those considerations are not
relevant with only a single checker on the 24pt. If X hits here,
then O has many return shots, and X may end up exposing another blot
and losing his racing edge. Playing 8/7(2) 6/5(2) improves his
structure with minimal risk. He could get primed, but O's prime is
not strong yet, and it's easier to leap one checker over a prime than
two checkers.
