Bkgm.com has archived an old r.g.b. post with an interesting
historical discussion of "whopper" and related terms.

https://bkgm.com/rgb/rgb.cgi?view+1273

Interesting to note at the time (2005), bkgm.com apparently
defined a "blunder" to be synonymous with "whopper." Nowadays,
as Stick pointed out, it is more common to follow XG's terminology
and define a blunder to be > 0.08. However, bkgm.com currently
does not give a numerical definition of a blunder.

.... which is why I referred to "semi-whoppers" in my article on reply
moves. With GNU Backgammon by default using "doubtful" > 0.04 and "bad"
> 0.08, XG using "mistake" > 0.00, "error" > 0.02 and "blunder" > 0.08,
and Nack Ballard/Paul Weaver use "mistake" > 0.03, "blunder" > 0.06, but
"whopper" > 0.1, the whopper seems to be the least disputed value.

Best regards

Axel

I think "whopper junior" would be more appropriate.

I'm sure you all know that at Burger King you can ask for
half-and-half frech fries and onion rings(?). So, for a real
close call, you can mix half decimal PR's as a side order...

BTW: It's good to see Axel participatig in various subjects
but can I ask if the jury is likely to deliver a verdict on the
"Murat mutant" experiment anytime soon?? If you sit on
it for too long, you may hatch much uglier ducklings...

I certainly knew that you can ask for this.
(You can also ask for fried alligator.) I had no idea though, that this item was on the menu.

Yeah, man, my first reaction though was "Whoa! You'd need
an aluminum bayou boat to fry one of them puppies." but I
quicly realized that you can, of course, chop them up first.

And I found out that they indeed call them "gator nuggets"
in the South but you need to go to MacDonald's for those.

Then the images of baby alligators hatching from eggs in
documentaries flashed in my head. Yup, there are a ton of
alligator egg receipes out there. I wonder if MacDonald's
serve "gator egg-mac-muffins"..?

And those gator babies appropriately called "hatchlings"
are apparently the size of large shrimp (before the head
is cut off).

Now, if I were an indian elder, I would name you "Alligator
Dundee from Up Over" and tell you throw one of them on
the barbie for me... ;)

MK

PS: I hope Axel doesn't hatch those instead of ducklings
and get bitten in the ass, as they are said to have quite a
bite even just after hatching... :)
