There are two important things that stand out at first here.
The first is that X is quite behind in the race - which will continue to be behind even after playing 5-5. The second is that he has a homeboard that is more inclined to attack. But the first is a much more dominant element. That's why bar/10, 15/10 would be my first choice. At least it's blocking O's direct exit.
I do not think that the blot left on the 15 point is very risky. Attacking against a single man will not be very effective.

tries to stay back for more contact. However, leaving the straggler
on the 20pt leaves it vulnerable to attack. And once X plays bar/15,
