Can outsiders really tell whether generals were killed while they were actively involved a fire fight upfront or they were killed they
were resting in their headquarters?

It certainly send a signal to the Russian side that the US could have their generals killed, at least
indirectly, if it wants to.

But to what end? To make Russian generals less enthusiastic about fighting in Ukraine? Or
to provoke them into stronger actions?
