I wouldn't consider it blitzing but what other play has any merit? Out and hit has to win a veritable truckload more games than any other checker shuffling play.

it a containment position. At any score other than gammon save (or
something close to it), I would hit and split without hesitation,
but at gammon save I wasn't sure.
