Version 3.6.1 and later: wielded aklys has the throw-and-return property like a Valkyrie using Mjollnir with 25 strength. A wielded aklys is attached to your wrist by a cord, at least conceptually, to be yanked back after being thrown.

That genocide might not be necessary if you are careful. The AC might be sufficient if you avoid to get surrounded by hordes of tough creatures. You know you may also wish for, say, two scrolls of TYPE, getting one or two as a result.
