In Math negative doesn't win over positive. In Math +- is undefined
behaviour (and most silly idea to start with).

No +-x is just +(-(x))

i.e., start with x, unary negate it, the unary plus it.

unary plus isn't normally a very useful operation, but is defined, I
suppose so you can write numbers like +5 to accentuate that they are
positive.

Also it converts anything shorter than int into signed int.
