An arithmetic bug in some Python libraries might be related
to C. The "fast" optimization options of some common compilers
might lead to calculation errors, when subnormal numbers are
involved. (Maybe this is even documented, but not everybody
is always aware of it.) A library will then be used that
sets the processor's FTZ/DAZ flag, and from then on, subnormals
will be treated as zero.

It doesn't matter how FTZ or DAZ are set.
