Hello,

I would like to transfer an old application from Oracle to an ODBC-based database. The old application was built using a really old version of Oractl. Based on some research, available options include the following:

1: tclodbc: It seems it is only available in 32-bit architecture. It doesn't look like it has seen any updates in terms of bug fixes or improvements for a long while.

2: TDBC: It has an ODBC driver and it looks to be more recent. A big plus is that it is available in 64-bit. However, it too does not show any developments in recent years.

My questions would be:

Are these packages actively maintained? How do you report issues or put in requests for new features?

TDBC::ODBC is actively maintained as you can see in the timeline of its repository

  https://core.tcl-lang.org/tdbcodbc/timeline

This is the place where you can create a ticket should there be problem.

HTH,
Christian
