It seems that you can't compile the vbox guest additions on Debian stretch with vbox 5.1.8 which is the latest in Debian jessie.

So if you want to run a stretch guest on a jessie host, it won't be easy (if possible at all) to install the guest additions in stretch.

It took me a while of wasting my time to finally figure this out.
