I just started syncing linux and offtopic about 10 minutes ago.

I set up the feeding based on the groups I found on your server with
thunderbird. Maybe those two weren't there originally, or I overlooked them.

They should be pulling and feeding now (as of a few minutes ago)

another reply.

I learned that you shouldn't edit .pullnews unless you disable pullnews.
It overwrites your changes if it was running (which makes sense).

yes, you are right. for some reason I did not create them.
I will create the rest of the groups (dovenet and usenet) during this weekend.
It still eats at me why pullnews is not working on my end.

yes, pullnews overwrites the file, I saw after I had put in all groups but some with a leading #, in order to enable them later. :)
I have researched a bit and found that there was a patch once in the perl library which is used, I wonder if it is applied in the version I have.
I am really not a perl expert. Maybe I will just try and move to a different box (maybe has something to do with the local version of the library I have installed).

I can put anything available on the tor interface. What do you mean "the
virtual"? Then nntp server?

I'm running everything on Debian (x86_64). It seems to be working ok.

I'll be adding a remote nntp server soon, also on Debian.

I was meaning to write "the virtual machine", the one on which you succesfully installed inn2, I might to be able to either run pullnews from there or at least to find a clue why it does not work in my case.

on i2p, i am currently at 6,6% with ca. 10 kb/s, on tor it might be faster (depending on your upstream).

Sending you a tor url to the nntp server (retrobbs2) by mail.
