Just installed linux (Ubuntu) on a chromebook using crouton.

Working just fine so far. Much better than a cromebook, lol.

Working well, I'm using it now.

Way better than when I couldn't get online in a hotel a few weeks ago and had had to tether through my phone to get a document.

Here's a crouton hint:

I looked online for a while to see how to get the chromebook to sleep when running Ubuntu. I doesn't, so the battery ends up going flat when it's shut.

The suggestions I saw took a lot of time every time you close it or open it.

What I found works just fine is to toggle back to chromeos (very easy), then close it. Then when you open it, just toggle back to Ubuntu. It works fine.
