It's openssl encryption (openssl_encrypt).

I'm just experimenting right now, and it's working well. The idea is that rslight sites can sync config data if they wish, and it can be done in the open since it's encrypted. I'm doing it now between rslight.i2p and a test site.

This can also be used for admin discussions that would otherwise be private (sharing connection keys, etc.)

Once it's working well, it opens the possibility to send encrypted messages between users without doing any scripting client side, it's all done on the server and the keys are specific to each user. I'm already now auto-creating keys for new users in their config file just in case I head this direction.

If so, I can auto create keys for all users that already exist, and encrypted messaging becomes possible, and reasonably simple. No need to share any keys you use now, as these keys will be specific to rslight.

Of course, important info that should be encrypted should be handled with gpg, not rslight encryption, but it can add a simple and reasonably secure way to communicate.

Still working on all this, it'll be a while as I do have a real job :)

that sounds yummy.

very nice. and similar to the "private box" feature i have put in boxs.i2p

As of now, reading encrypted messages is working very well. It's just on a test site atm.

Now to make sending easier. I'm manually (by script) sending right now, but just need to add to rslight post functions. Getting there.
