Most of i2p are people with real jobs and a hobby.

How do you know that ?

Check youtube zzz, go to gatherings, IRC channel etc.  You have to be involved and search zzz forum and look for info.  A lot do programming or network administration.  Most of the crowd is well versed and experienced.  It is a shame that i2p does not provide a road map for the beginner to get advanced and it takes a lot of trial, error and outside experience to stay with the network.

Content wise zeronet is very good.  The speed is great with or without Tor.  I would personally like it to succeed against Facebook.  The war with GFW is good info on methods but a distraction against the big prize Facebook.  Maybe they need the publicity?  Posted on def.i2p

Thanks for the info on zeronet. To be honest, I did not find
it so hard to get i2p up and running...it is just a pity
that you need to be connected permanently in order to be
well integrated....
But in a way this also provides better anonymity.

Comparing anonymity networks, I believe there is a big
potential in combining the different networks.

It's an interesting idea but seems it was implemented without end user security in mind.

and what does that say about a program that is using a network and supposed to make you anonymous ? i would say back to square one.

lol, a few years ago I announced a nice site in i2p (when I was very new to i2p), and it was loaded with javascript. I had no clue about the security issues.

After the heavy load of abuse I received, I learned quickly.

Zero Net is super fast based on torrents while i2p is slow.  Most of the proxies to Zero Net are leaking.  It does not help that they are under attack by GFW (zzz forum).  If you recruit volunteers for the fight is OK but i2p network is not suited as an attack or defense platform.  You can have files posted on Snark or other slow torrents but an actual proxy... even false i2p is not working very well and orchid is the same.  Most of i2p are people with real jobs and a hobby.

Try firejail! It is a very easy to use sandbox.  It is not perfect but it is versatile.  firejail ./i2prouter start and than try to allow i2prouter (from the webbrowser router configuration) to open the firewall... it will kill it.  It works great for browsers too and it is very easy to install.  It works with zeronet router too...

Don't expect AppArmour security but firejail is good...  AppArmour made me reformat hdd's quite a few times.

Thanks for the hint, but I think I will pass.
I don't believe in faulty designs which are than patched up in an attempt to make them tight. Reminds me a bit of running desktop firewalls on Windows way back.
Zeronet (and anything else which aims for anonymity) should come as safe by design imho. And that excludes js.

nuff said.
