It does work! Any browser with proxy 127.0.0.1:9051 or 9050 (torsocks) should do it.

I've watched youtube videos using tor browser bundle. Do u get an error or message? That might help work it out.

No, the whole site fails to load, even with js enabled. Guess I have to lower the security slider to medium or low. What do you use ?

ok, with security level "standard" (the lowest one), youtube finally works. don't even want to know how google will use all the features i have turned on now...

youtube-dl is as broken as i remember it. last time i got it to work was maybe 5 years ago...guess google don't like it so much...
i always get the same error message, which is "token parameter not in video info"

with the latest version of youtube-dl is just works, very nice.
can even proxy the whole thing over privoxy and tor, fucking great. fast, too. got around 1,5 Mib/s.

maybe for you, for me it did not, and I am happy that it does again.
of course this does not mean automatically that something was wrong with the code, the problem could also have been in front of the screen or somewhere in the OS or the general setup of the machine...

while it is possible (and I wonder why it doesn't work out of the box for you) I will say that maybe you should avoid using tor for something as trivial. Video streaming tends to suck up the bandwidth of tor nodes and, while no one would know and be able to scold you, it is still something to think about. I could be wrong tho maybe you wont do enough harm to make a dent.

These are all instances of invidious that can access youtube videos. You do not need JavaScript to use them, you really should not be using JavaScript at all for anything. You can copy everything to the right of the youtube.com and past it at the end of the link and it will work the same. If you use yt-download, be sure to change the useragent string to match the one used by TorBB.
