What do you think of the Baku circuit?

I'm liking it more and more, other than Monaco it seems to have more bite than any other.

I'm not sure how that much "bite" makes for good racing, and the
inevitable red flags surely don't improve things.

Yes. I think I like it's races better than most
of the other tracks on the schedule.
It has slow, tight & twisty bits,
but then opens up in what I believe is
the longest straight run currently in F1.

We have seen, passing IS possible, and has been done.

And it does not have the problem of the frequent
complaints of "enforce track limits"!

Well, the last time it was run, in 2019, there
was no 'red flag'. So I do not think your word
"inevitable" is correct.
Plus, 'red flags' are just an unpredictable event,
disrupt the predictable flow, but do not necessarily
decrease enjoyment.
In your opinion, does a sudden downpour improve,
or harm viewing pleasure? Many like them to occur.

After qualifying I expected safety cars if not red flag, but not because of tire failure.

Yup. I wonder if the wind direction made a difference to where the
drivers were liable to make their mistakes and perhaps make less costly
ones.

Yeah, tyre failure. It seems to me that the inside of the tread on the left rears was overheating
then failing where it met the sidewall. Pirelli increased minimum pressure from 19 to 20 psi during
the weekend but that wasn't enough. More pressure would have put the load more towards the centre
of the tread rather than the edges.

The load on the edge of the tyre at 300km/h (considering the downforce being applied) was just too
much for the construction it seems. (I haven't read anything, I've only just watched the race.)

As an aside; After watching how much less damping there was in the 18" tyres on the F2 cars
compared with the F1 races at Baku I have to wonder how the F1 teams are going to deal with bumpy
circuits like Baku next year. They're going so much faster than F2 so the bumps are going to be
that much worse.
