Taliban winner?
Not in most of the world's eyes, simply put they got black hearts.
Pray they stop murdering innocent people.

Winners are the Afghan producers who profit
from selling opium and it's likely the Taliban,
even though they previously opposed opium
production, profited from opium sells which
helped them defeat the pitiful Afghan govern-
ment effort (often, the U.S.-trained Afghan ...

ISIS-K, responsible for the recent suicide murders
of Afghans & U.S. military personnel, & suicide mur-
der by ISIS is fueled by Islamic religious fervor (brain-
washed into believing that they'll be rewarded with
virgins in Islamic heaven).

You call them winners is your choice.
I won't call anybody who grows or takes such items as a winner.
I certainly won't call thugs who murdered in the name of their own religion a winner.
Right at this minute the images of vibrant young service persons are in a casket being unloaded at Dover, DE.
Many of them early 20's one was from Lawrence, Massachusetts (female) 22

You fail to take note of legal opioid prescriptions

severe pain which opioids can provide, and as
with all medications, risks are entailed & adhering
to doctor prescription doses / warnings is well-
advised, failing to do is risky & can be deadly.

As with the 9-11 victims of Islamic suicide mass
murderers, all murdered victims are esteemed,
all who commit suicide via mass murder & mur-

People complicit in brainwashing others into be-
lieving murder of one or more is commendable are
also to be admonished & condemned for their com-

> I didn't fail to note anything as most of the junkies start out legal.

The percent of narcotic addiction that fails
to be reversed via intervention / treatment
is far less than the over 50% you assert, &
your presumption that legal opioid prescrip-
tions account for over 50% of opioid addic-
tion is unsupported. Also worth noting is ...

.... the fact that failing to follow prescription
instructions would account for 100% of ad-
verse impact of opiate prescription use, &
the fact that opioid prescriptions are life-
saving benefits in reducing severe pain.

Your reply fails to address my statement
that "You fail to take note of legal opioid
.. prescriptions for chronic severe pain &
.. the invaluable relief of severe pain which
.. opioids can provide, & as with all medica-
.. tions, risks are entailed & adhering to ...

.... doctor prescription doses / warnings is
.. well-advised, failing to do is risky & can
.. be deadly."

As for your confusing the Taliban with ISIS-K,
they're actually fighting with one another, &
both the U.S. & Taliban oppose ISIS-K, the
entity which murdered the Afghans & U.S.
military personnel (13) recently.

The U.S. effort in Afghanistan ended in the
Taliban winning that war, similar in many
ways to North Vietnam winning the Vietnam
war. The U.S. effort also increased opium
production in Afghanistan:
https://ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/976/cpsprodpb/13300/production/_120229587_afg_opium-nc.png

Unknown whether the Taliban will recreate a
dramatic drop in opium production like they
did in 2001.

The US military has said it believes it killed an Isis-K
‘planner’ in its first reprisal strike in Afghanistan after
the deadly Kabul attack that killed at least 170 people,
including 13 US military personnel.

Approximately 36 hours after the suicide bomb attack
at Kabul left hundreds dead or wounded and Joe Biden
vowed to hunt down those responsible, the US said an
unmanned drone had been dispatched to attack a sus-
pected member of ISIS’ Afghanistan branch, which it
described as a “planner”.

It did not say whether the individual was believed linked
specifically to the attack on Thursday at Hamid Karzai
International Airport.

However, the US military said it believed the mission to
kill the militant had been successful. ...

US military admits drone strike intended to kill
ISIS-K fighters in Kabul actually killed civilians,
including 7 children

---

An investigation by the US military has determined that an
airstrike last month in Kabul believed to have eliminated a
terrorist threat actually killed civilians, a top US general said
Friday.

"This strike was taken in the earnest belief that it would pre-
vent an imminent threat to our forces and the evacuees at
the airport, but it was a mistake and I offer my sincere apol-
ogy," Gen. Kenneth McKenzie, the head of US Central Com-
mand, told reporters at the Pentagon.

"I am now convinced that as many as 10 civilians, including
up to 7 children, were tragically killed in that strike," he said.

McKenzie explained that there was "reasonable certainty at
the time of the strike to designate the vehicle as an 'immin-
ent threat.'" He said that the "investigation now concludes
that this was a tragic mistake.

The Marine Corps general acknowledged that the strike "did
not come up to our standards" and that "clearly the intelligence
was wrong."

A New York Times visual investigation of the strike last week
undermined the US military's initial account of the strike's suc-
cess, suggesting instead they had killed an aid worker driving
around Kabul for his work.

Video: https://twitter.com/i/status/1438946053441601540

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley, who
previously referred to the drone attack as a "righteous strike,"
said in statement on Friday the strike was a "horrible tragedy
of war."

"It's heart wrenching and we are committed to being fully trans-
parent about this incident," Milley added.

The August 29 airstrike in the capital of Afghanistan came days
after a suicide bombing at the international airport killed more
than 160 civilians and 13 US soldiers. That attack was attribu-
ted to ISIS-K, an extremist group.

In a statement at the time, CENTCOM said it had carried out
an attack with an unmanned drone against a vehicle in Kabul,
"eliminating an imminent ISIS-K threat to Hamad Karzai Inter-
national
airport."

"We are confident we successfully hit the target," a spokesper-
son said, claiming the military had received "no indications" that
there had been civilian casualties.

But in a subsequent statement also released on the day of the
strike, CENTCOM said it was "aware of reports of civilian casu-
alties," adding that it would be "deeply saddened by any poten-
tial loss of innocent life."

Last week, the New York Times released a report that under-
mined the US military's initial claims that the strike hit a vehicle
packed with explosives. The Times obtained video footage that
showed the aid worker who was killed, Zemari Ahmadi, filling his
car with water containers for his home.

.... In a Friday statement on the strike, Defense Secretary Lloyd
Austin apologized to the family members of the victims.

Lloyd offered his "deepest condolences to surviving family mem-
bers of those who were killed, including Mr. Ahmadi, and to the
staff of Nutrition and Education International, Mr. Ahmadi's em-
ployer."

"We now know that there was no connection between Mr. Ahmadi
& ISIS-Khorasan, that his activities on that day were completely
harmless & not at all related to the imminent threat we believed
we faced, & that Mr. Ahmadi was just as innocent a victim as were
the others tragically killed," Lloyd added.

The defense secretary said the Pentagon will work to learn "from
this horrible mistake," adding that he'd ordered a review of the
CENTCOM investigation into the strike. "We owe that to the vic-
tims & their loved ones, to the American people and to ourselves,"
Austin said.

"No military works harder than ours to avoid civilian casualties.
When we have reason to believe we have taken innocent life,
we investigate it &, if true, we admit it," Austin said. "But we also
must work just as hard to prevent recurrence - no matter the cir-
cumstances, the intelligence stream or the operational pressures
under which we labor."

Article showing some of the children killed in the
tragic U.S. drone strike that killed no ISIS-K ter-
rorists, instead killing 10 innocent civilians includ-
ing 7 innocent children.

Reprehensible inexcusable, & condemnable, part
of the 'fog' of war -or- a tragedy that could've and
should've been prevented by making certain the
attack was on ISIS-K, not on innocent Afghan civil-
ians including children.
