The current record? Set by the New
Orleans Saints in 2011, 7,474 yards,
467.125 yards per game.

Right now, Cowboys are #1 in total
yards after 6 games, 2,765, 460.833
yards per game. If they stayed at
that pace, after a 17 game season,
their total yards would = 7,834, a
new NFL record.

---

Sidenote: The 2013 Denver Broncos
set the current record for the most
points scored in a season, 606,
37.875 points per game (1st). That
season they gave up 399 points,
24.9375 points per game (22nd).

The Cowboys, with 205 points, average
34.16666666666667 points per game
thus far (1st). They've allowed 146 points,
24.33 points per game (19th).

For a new record of 607 points in a
season (an additional 402 points),
the Cowboys would have to average
36.54545454545455 points per game
for the remaining 11 games.

The Broncos, by the way, went on to
the Super Bowl in 2013, but were held
to their lowest point total of the season
in that game, 8 points, giving up 43
points to the Seahawks.

What happened to the 2013 Broncos should be
a lesson for the Cowboys were they have the

2013 Super Bowl:

.... The Seahawks won the turnover battle, they
won the battle in the trenches and they won the
time-of-possession battle. There wasn't a single
battle that they didn't win. ...

.... Seattle roughed up Denver's offense.

It punched Denver in the mouth, and the Broncos
never recovered. More than anything, that was the
story of the game—the Seahawks were more phy-
sical than the Broncos, and the Broncos couldn't
respond. ...
