A good day for the Spanish teams; very nearly 3 away wins against
respectable opposition. Sevilla deserved to lose on balance of play,
but had a goal disallowed on what seemed to me to be very spurious
grounds (handball when the arm was tight to the body and in front of the
body - no way a defender gets called for that even with the very broad
interpretation of handball used these days. I can see that call if he
had deflected the ball directly into the goal of his hand, but this took
place well outside the area. In the normal run of play, without a goal
being scored, this would never have got called), as well as a very soft
penalty awarded against them.
