Of course, the construction "any [conditional statement describing the
group referred to ]will be required to pass" pretty much removes
ambiguity about what "any" meant in the previous version.

But I can't see the ambiguity in "ANY". "ANY" car that has been
lapped means "EVERY" car that has been lapped means "ALL" cars that
have been lapped. No way can it be interpreted as "SOME", or "THOSE
THAT ARE IN THE WAY OF VER".

Perhaps Australians struggle with English.

I don't know that I can regain the interest this season.

Yeah Ozzie do struggle with English, just like Yanks. They can't spell
words like 'labour', for sterters.

Looks like that says " ...any cars that have been lapped by the leader
...." to me.

Yes that works with " ...will be required ..", but 'all' would have been
firmer.

Yes, I had been reading the 21 regs as being the '22.

The 'any' bit didn't fit well with the 'required to' bit.

IIRC the FIA never relied on it but RBR tried to use it to obfuscate
the regulation not being applied correctly but rather used in their
favour.

you do not want cars trying to catch up with the back of the pack whilst
marshals are still working on it, that's why they wait until it is clear.
