I think it's plausible that Mercedes asked lewis to "save his power
unit" till the end of the race. It's early days and the team wants to
score as much points as possible while going through this hard times for
them. Look at last race and what Ocon was doing to Alonso. Not very
smart.

Lewis was extremely unlucky at Jeddah and Melbourne, so I guess that's
why he was visibly upset about the situation. Anyway, I'm pretty sure
Mercedes will ask Russell to do the same, if need be at other races.

Later explained that his car was over-heating. But how 'you guys'
caused the car to overheat I can't imagine.

Engineers don’t have the time during a race to go into detail and the
drivers just have to accept what they are told. After last year it’s not
surprising that Lewis feels a bit paranoid.
