Heard a stat that going into yesterday's game between the Browns and Raiders that Cleveland would move into first place in the AFC North and the no. 4 seed with a win, but the loss dropped them all the way to 12th, with 13 of the AFC's 16 teams currently at .500 or better.

Another example: After week 12, the Ravens led the North and were the no.1 seed in the entire AFC with an 8-3 record - three weeks and three close losses (by a total of 4 points) later, they would be the no. 8 seed and thus out of the playoffs if they started next week.

Chargers currently sit at no. 6, they are in a four way tie for the three wild card spots with Indy, Buffalo, and Baltimore. Indy has the best conference record of the group and thus is 5th right now, then the Chargers have a better conference record than the Bills and Ravens. So they still control their playoff destiny and will be in with three wins in their last three games.

It's just a shame the Chargers didn't get one more win earlier, in the
second Chiefs game or otherwise. Right now they're in a big pack at 8-6
and 7-7.

Yep, and now they've lost control of their destiny. Even if they win out, they need both Miami and Baltimore to lose once more to sneak into the last wild card.
