No surprises, other than maybe Stick and Daniels both listed as second
string. And Tillery remains the third DL starter, although I guess that
would always be the case for a veteran early in training camp.

Stick is an UFA next year, so this is probably his last chance to win the backup job. Daniel, who's made about $60 million while starting just 5 games in his career, probably will retire or go somewhere else to hold a clipboard as 3rd stringer. No matter what, I'd expect them to draft a QB in the later rounds next year.

Stick seems to be looking pretty good according to Popper's training
camp reports for The Athletic. I'm starting to wonder if the Chargers
might cut Daniels so they can keep an extra player at another position.

I'm not sure if they ever go with just two QBs. I'll have to look at
some previous seasons' rosters.

I could be wrong but I thought at least one year they only had Rivers and Volek on the roster (I think Sorenson was on the practice squad).

Just looked up some rosters, for several years of Philip's career they carried just 2 QBs. In 2005, it was just Brees and Rivers. In 2010 and 2011, it was just Rivers and Billy Volek. In 2012, just Rivers and Charlie Whitehurst (who had been the third stringer behind Rivers and Volek from 2006-09). From 2014-16 it was just Rivers and Kellen Clemens, and then in 2018 just Rivers and Geno Smith.

Great work. I thought so but wasn't sure.

The Chargers have a lot of good players, and finding a way to keep
another one would be a positive.

Thanks for checking!
