I never could understand how a baseball player can have his pulled hammy "heal" in a couple of weeks.
It takes a couple of months for normal people. I guess they just play thru the pain.

I think they shut it down at the first twinge. Non-athletes would ignore
that and continue.

On a survey at a medical facility at Duke one time, I saw them hooking
electrodes to an injured ankle to speed the healing process of a sprain.
Maybe teams use a combination of that along with massage, and soaking
in a hot tub.

Nationals slugger Kyle Schwarber will miss significant time due to a hamstring injury. In Friday’s 10-5 loss to the Dodgers, the left fielder exited in the second inning after he felt a pop in his hamstring.

“I hit the ball and thought it was a good chance to try to extend it into two,” said Schwarber. “[The] ball was in the gap, so [Cody Bellinger, Dodgers center fielder] was gonna have to make a perfect throw. Yeah. They played poorly. Bad baseball basic things like throwing to the cut off man.

Could be that the NL East really is a weak division. Games against the Phillies, Mets and Fish were fun.
The Dodgers series was painful.
