Did the offense struggle or did we start to turtle?

I hate seeing an offense slow down to grind the clock, especially from a coach who isn't supposed to be conventional. The Niners used to use their whole offense no matter how far ahead they were. We need to have that "step on your neck" mentality. Don't handcuff Herbert when he's the best player on the field.

Yeah, Lombardi said after the game he got too conservative in the second half. The Chiefs certainly didn't let up on the Cardinals while blowing them out, they scored TDs on their first three possessions of the second half.

You know what burns time off the clock? First downs.
You know what leads to surer wins? More points.

The idea that running the ball and punting is good football is like the
idea that decent hitters bunting is good baseball. It is ridiculous how
long bad ideas linger.

If we could force our run game on defenders even when they expect it, it would be another story. We're not there....yet.

If our offensive line can dominate their defensive line so much that it
still prevails when they know what is coming, we will win. That's true
whether you run or pass. However, you will do even better if they don't
know what is coming.

People who want a strong running game are inverting the implication.
The running game is strong when you were going to win anyway.
