How do you analyze a game that turns on one play?

I suppose more important is to find out the severity of the injuries to
Linsley, Pipkins and Herbert.

Sigh.

That was one of the worst things I've ever seen. Everett gets up after catching the pass to set up first and goal, clearly signals that he's gassed and needs to come off the field, and instead they rush everyone to the line and try to throw it to Palmer, but the DB guarding Everett was able to jump the route because Everett didn't take him wide enough. Horrible game management and situational awareness from the coaching staff.

I guess you could say that, for the Chargers to lose, it took:

--one impossibly bad play

--injuries to two offensive linemen

--two dropped interceptions

--two interceptions taken back by the officials, at least one of which
was clearly incorrect

-- Keenan Allen unable to play

I was thinking the same thing. Everett was so gassed that he took the play off and it cost the Chargers the game. Why not trust the offense to get the score from that close without having to resort to no huddle?
