Kelsey Musgrove: Mystery surrounds death
of surgeon, 26, whose body was found on
hiking trail
https://meaww.com/kelsey-musgrove-wisconsin-surgeon-dead-hiking-trail-90-ft-dropoff-waterfall
---

.... Wisconsin surgeon and hiker Kelsey Mus-
grove was found dead on a local hiking trail
on April 3 near the Potato River Falls which
has a steep 90-foot dropoff, just a week after
her family last heard from her. ...

---

Comment: Unknown / undisclosed the cause
of her death, but needless to say, the cause
may involve that mentioned 90-foot dropoff.
I'll follow this up with clarification once the
cause of her death has been made public.

How many fall deaths per year?
https://www.google.com/search?q=How+many+fall+deaths+per+year

An estimated 684,000 fatal falls occur
each year, making it the second leading
cause of unintentional injury death, after
road traffic injuries.

---

On Monday, April 4 2022, I had a doctor's
appointment on the 6th floor of a building.
I had arrived on the 6th floor by riding on
a fully enclosed elevator. After the appoint-
ment, I had to go to the restroom which
was located on the other side of the build-
ing.

Scarily (for me), that floor has an open area
with a small (3 foot high?) glass divider to
supposedly prevent someone from falling
to their death from the 6th floor.

I walked on the side near the wall, due to
my fear of heights.

When going down from that floor, the eleva-
tor had a glass wall. Needless to say, I stayed
as far away from that as I could. I'm always
amazed at the number of houses & buildings
with openings inviting falls from heights as
well at being amazed at the proclivity of ...

.... many movies & TV shows to show actors
& actresses near the edge of tall buildings or
bridges or other structures, acting as if they're
not at risk. I surmise that almost all of those
depictions are not actually done at those risky
heights (they're simply illusions) & may (I don't ...

.... know this for a fact) contribute to people in
real life engaging in risky behavior at dangerous
heights, but that's just a supposition on my part
as I have no way of knowing what the perspec-
tives of folks who don't fear heights is.

The sheriff said it appeared that Musgrove
had veered off the observation area at the

river.

“While walking along the edge of the embank-

collapsed, bringing her down the bank along
with clay and rocks,” Samardich said.

It wasn’t immediately clear how far Musgrove
fell. ...

Follow-up 2:

In the original post, I commented that "many movies
& TV shows show actors & actresses near the edge
of tall buildings or bridges or other structures, acting
as if they're not at risk.

I surmise that almost all of those depictions are not
actually done at those risky heights (they're simply
illusions) ..."

Well, apparently I'm wrong in some cases, as shown
in the following youtube video of many humans riskily
hiking down a high trail in Utah, with much of the trail
having no fence (the video, a Sports Illustrated swim-
suit photo shoot of model Nina Agdal - for admirers
of beauty, hot shots of Nina are at the end):
https://youtu.be/RPW1hNqZHcw

An article about the risks of hiking in Utah, posted on
March 30 2022: "Candice Thompson of Richfield, Utah,
has died after plunging an "estimated between 75 and
100 feet" off a cliff on Sunday ... ".
