Traffic accident occurred Wednesday night,
May 4 2022, between a vehicle driven by Jerry
Jones in the center lane and a vehicle making
an illegal left turn from the right lane in front
of Jerry Jones' vehicle.

o It appears that other than minor injuries, no
one was seriously hurt in either vehicle.

o It appears a driver in the right lane was trying
to turn left, & Jerry Jones was in the center lane,
the de facto blame being that the vehicle in the
right lane made a mistake, an illegal left turn.

o Unclear if Jerry Jones vehicle was going the
speed limit or not.

o Legal culpability for the accident, the driver
in the right lane was at fault for attempting to
make an illegal left turn from the right lane;
however, if Jerry Jones vehicle was speeding,
unclear if 1) he was speeding, and 2) if he was,
unclear if he might be charged with speeding ...

.... or not based on the available evidence; not
being a lawyer, not sure if speeding would be
involved in blame for the accident as it appears
that an illegal left turn from the right lane would
be the blame for the accident, & if speeding was
also involved, that would be a factor separate
from blame for the accident.

Sec. 545.101. TURNING AT INTERSECTION.

(b) To make a left turn at an intersection, an operator shall:

(1) approach the intersection in the extreme left-hand lane
lawfully available to a vehicle moving in the direction of the
vehicle; and

(2) after entering the intersection, turn left, leaving the
intersection so as to arrive in a lane lawfully available to
traffic moving in the direction of the vehicle on the roadway
being entered.

Follow-up:

Police Report confirms that the blame for
the accident resides with the driver who
made an illegal left turn from a lane far
away from the left lane he was legally
obligated to turn from.

As for the speed Jerry's car was driving at,
unmentioned in the police report:
