Anthony Slater @anthonyVslater

The Warriors have signed Gary Payton II into their 15th spot. He won it
over the summer and with a brief preseason 12-minute explosion. He will
serve as t the ball pressure defender that they lacked off the bench.
Non-guaranteed, so team still has flexibility with 15th spot.

So I see your (Robin's) post 3 days ago from the Athletic was right on
the money:
"Decision time for the 15th spot came Friday night and the Golden State
Warriors opted for nobody. They waived Avery Bradley, Gary Payton II,
Mychal Mulder and Jordan Bell after the preseason finale. But all is not
as simple as it may appear on the surface.
The Warriors could keep that 15th roster spot vacant. Any day it’s empty
would save them a tiny chunk of tax dollars. Owner Joe Lacob has
directed cost-cutting nibble moves around the margins in recent seasons
and been increasingly public about his uneasiness adding to the most
expensive roster in league history.
But Steve Kerr mentioned weekend “discussions” the Warriors’
decision-makers are still set to have regarding the 15th spot. There has
been no final resolution. In fact, I’m hearing there’s a strong
possibility that Payton could return and claim that 15th roster spot
before Tuesday’s opener, but he’d have to clear waivers before that
decision can even be made, which isn’t a guarantee."
How much money do you suppose is a "tiny chunk of tax dollars?"
