This might explain the increase in mock drafts I've seen that have the Chargers taking Texas RB Bijan Robinson at 21.

He has been one of their most important offensive players. However, he's fast approaching the age-30 cliff for RBs and he's never been the guy you can hand it to on 3rd and short and expect him to get the first down. I'd like to see him play out his deal this year for the Chargers but I don't think it's the right move for them to be the ones to give him a big contract. If they can get a good pick for him and he can get paid elsewhere that may turn out to be the right move for all parties involved.

Chicago would be interesting given that they just traded the number one overall pick to Carolina for two firsts, two seconds, and a receiver - they currently own both the 53rd and 61st picks in the second round (the 53rd being one spot ahead of the Chargers' 2nd rounder) so they might be willing to part with one of those to get another weapon to help Justin Fields develop.

Weird stat of the day: Ekeler led the NFL last season in yards after the catch, with 848 yards. Why is that weird you ask? Because he caught 107 passes last year...for 722 yards. Meaning his AVERAGE reception was made approximately 3.5 feet behind the line of scrimmage. Yet another indictment of Lombardi's offense.

Great catch! I love paired stats like those.

Chargers scored 42 TD's and Ekeler had almost half (18). He was Justin's relief valve when the line broke down, which will keep happening. I can't imagine Herbert is happy about this.
