I'm hoping for at least a starting safety to pair with Jammer and
re-signing Van Noy.

Safety John Johnson III, who has been released by the Browns for cap
reasons, has been linked to the Chargers because he played for the Rams
in 2020 when Staley coached there. Maybe just rumors. I don't know
anything about him.
