He's been bad, and his velocity is down, but part of Scherzer's problem right now has to be just the lack of pitching. He had 2 weeks off between his last 2 starts, and only threw a total of 6 innings in those 2 games. So time will tell with him. I'm sure he's hearing the "washed up" talk too, and will be determined to make people eat those words. It's not like any of the other starters have been exactly lighting it up so far either, although Senga looked better tonight. They actually got a quality start from him. Only their 5th of the season, near league bottom.
