The thing that annoyed me the most was when Igor gave the puck away 13 seconds after they took the lead...you can tell he was conservative with it after that....which is what he should have been doing all game/series long, thats the story of the series as a whole, Rangers trying to be to cute instead of playing patient defensive playoff hockey. And FINALLY someone lays a glove on Crosby instead of letting him skate like its the ice capades, if Rangers win it is LITERALLY because that Trouba hit on Cindy...and yes it was a clean hit, Cindy just got to comfortable because no one touched him all series and he was skating with his head down, his bad.

Also hats off to lingren....Fox seems LOST out there without him but he came to play even tho in obvious pain....Thats why i don't think Fox will ever be as good as Leetch, he just isnt the defensive player Leetch was, and prolly never will be. Leetch was the PERFECT mix of offense and defense but when you are a defensman you gotta play D first! Leetch was a little bigger than Fox body type wise but he was never considered a smash mouth body checker like Trouba, you can use the body without knocking guys on their ass.

I'm not a hockey fan but my son in law and grandson are hard core Penguins fans. But all I can say is that even if it was a clean hit it your statement says a lot about your team if they have to take out the opposing teams star player to win.

Tom, what about the Penguins who tried to take out the Rangers' goalie near the end of game 2. Note, he was fantastic in the first 2 games and less than ordinary games 3 and 4 after that unnecessary hit. He only really reverted to his all-star performance standard in the 3rd period of game 5.

Well Jeff, like I said I'm not a hockey fan so I didn't see that play and I probably shouldn't be replying to a hockey thread since I have no knowledge about the game but I'm not a fan of cheap shots no matter who is it.

Also Cindy has had many concussions....and i think that is what he has. And from what i understand the more you get the easier it is to get another.....

I know Crosby has a history with concussions that's why to me it looked like an elbow to the head isn't what I would call clean. But if it's legal I guess it's ok. I only responded because you made it seem like they should have tried to take him out earlier in the series. I don't care what the sport is, if that's your strategy I think that is bush league.

They CERTAINLY should have been hitting him hard and often early whether he got injured or not. It was a clean hard hit. No penalty and not even a fine after it was reviewed under a microscope at the league offices... but just like football the point is to hit and hit hard. Its not about pulling punches. Leonard Marshall didnt say "Oh golly this is the great Joe Montana, i wanna sack him but not TOO hard, god forbid he gets hurt" No he hit him clean, but as hard and violent as possible, which is what he was taught since Pop Warner, seperate the kid from the ball. Or in hockey sense its dont let him think he can just skate around with the puck like its figure skating. Hard body checks are a part of the game. It isn't beer league Rec Hockey..... But rest assured Trouba will be fist fighting someone tonight.....he should turtle maybe the Pens will get an instigator...
