Did they do a "stars of the game" after the game?

I would have said:
#3 Shesterkin
#2 Shesterkin
#1 Shesterkin

But they would have only done him as #1 with his 42 saves.

I guess the other two would have been Zbanajad with the tying goal and a pretty assist on Kreider's first period goal and Panarin for the game winner, though I really think he did not have much of a game other than that.

I think They ALL can do better as far a consistent full series, but Mika really got hot last few games....If you are looking for the unsung hero look no further than Lindgren....he goes down the Rangers play shittiest ive seen them all year in Pitt (Especially Fox), he comes back the Rangers go on the improbable 3 game streak to take the series....

Yes, I agree about Lindgren. There was a definite fallout from the first game going triple overtime. Lindgren was out a few games and the Penguins goalie who was already replacing the first string goalie also went down, and in fact never came back this series.

And Zibanajad is one of the streakiest players alive. He other gets bunches of goals or none. Let us hope that he keeps scoring goals in bunches.

One further comment---the officials in Toronto either suck or maybe were betting on the Penguins. The goal they disallowed in game one for goalie interference was a terrible overturn as Kaako was checked into the goalie by a Penguin. He could not have avoided the collision. And the goal they allowed last night that was put in with a high stick was ridiculous. The stick was way, way above the shoulder of the shooter. It should never have been allowed.

The rule is actually the crossbar not shoulder, and i think u can file that one under "inconclusive". if it was called no goal originally it would have been no goal, there was no conclusive replay. The Goalie interference, which seems 100 years ago now, is like a judgement call like PI in football, that one was more iffy, yes he was pushed from behind but if the ref thinks he still would have hit him without the push it still will be called. I guess that goes for the eye in the sky ref too, but as we have seen from football putting "judgement calls" on video replay can be disasterous. If you do it by the book yes holding in football could prolly literally be called on most every play. I'm sure there are Pens fans still crying about the Cindy hit still too....i thought all in all it was a well officiated series, but history of this NG is to complain about every little thing and its a Dallas (or fill in the blank) conspiracy ....

There is no way that holding in football on the line could ever be part of replay unless they change the rule////"You CAN hold as long as it isn't outside your shoulders and you do not reach out and grab, but make sure you hold no longer than 2 seconds"....and even the reach outs are not called half the time....

The stick was well above the crossbar also. And if inconclusive means going with the call on the ice, that is not what happened in game 1.

I said the highstick call replay was inconclusive, which it was, the goalie interference they could clearly see there was contact before but that Kakkos path was going into the goalie regardless of contact, which is a Judgement call.

Thats why its Judgement they thought his momentum would have bowled the goalie any way....if he had his breaks on or his angle was different it might have counted, watching it live action i knew it was gonna be a close call, i know Michelletti thought it should have counted but Dave Maloney thought it was the proper call.....there is no conspiracy regardless the NHL would LOVE the Rangers to go all the way. And on the TBS feed last night every announcer thought the same.....inconclusive replay.

Since you guys are talking about rules and I don't know the rules, is it always legal to grab a player around the neck and rip his helmet off? Or is it like the NFL and the rules change during playoffs.

At most that could have been roughing.....even in a regular season non OT game players get away with more than that on almost every scrum in front of the goal. Cindy should have got a lot more a lot earlier til Trouba finally took care of business...

Also from what i heard cindy wasnt complaining about getting his helmet knocked off, he was complaining about the rule where he had to go to the bench if you cant put it back on right away.

The play I was referring to was the one in OT behind the net, it wasn't Crosby. The Ranger for no reason just grabbed the Pen around the back of the neck and took him down while ripping his helmet off from the back. But it paid off for the Rangers since they scored right after it.
