Igor had a very up and down series...except when it came to third period or later. Shesterkin had an out of this world .990 save pct in the games 3rd period or later....of course the games he was pulled he never made it to 3rd!
This points out the importance of Shesterkin and the Rangers to get off to faster starts vs Carolina, who will not be as easy to comeback against as vs Pitt... fast start might just mean 1-1 at end of 1 or 2-2 end of 2nd.....patient defensive playoff hockey

Unfortunately, one of the late goals he gave up was in the third overtime period of game 1. But 79 saves is unworldly
