I realize its Mad Max and Stanton is out, but -182? Max is great but hes 38 tonite! Anyway those odds are prohibitive, i'll just pocket the money i made from last night when the yankmes were slight faves....i figured Mets would be fave tonite but not by THAT much! Maybe -130.

The way i see it...If Degrom comes back only to get hurt again.....or comes back and isnt Degrom, the Mets are a final 4 team like the Rangers....if Degrom comes back and is Degrom the Mets could easily bring home the first world championship in NYC since the 2011 Giants....major sports that is, not counting that Fugazy soccer one....

The way he keeps having one setback after another, I'm not counting on
getting much from deGrom this year. What they need is help in the
bullpen and a legitimate DH. The starting pitching has been excellent
sans deGrom and all teams have their highs and lows offensively. The D
looks pretty solid. With 12 teams qualifying this year, getting in the
playoffs is not a great task for a talented team. If everything falls
right, this could be the year.

Trade for JD Martinez, they have the best closer in the game right now, Lugo looked nasty last night and i think May is coming back. Sure we could prolly use a lefty middle reliever but if thats all i got to complain about i'm cool.

Being one of his harshest critics, I have to give Diaz his due; he's
been lights-out. Lugo looked the best he has all season last night. If
he's back on track, that's a huge plus. Middle relief is a crap shoot,
last year's bum is suddenly reliable this year, and vice-versa. JD
Martinez in a Mets uniform sounds nice.

Yea the true wildcard will be if we have Degrom and Sherzer for the playoffs....if that is the case NO ONE will be surprised if the Mets finally go all the way for first time since '86....Tho i think only the Mets and the Rangers have been to the finals for NYC area teams since Giants won in '11, Mets in 2015 and Rangers in 2014....
