Warriors-Grizzlies live updates: Both Kerr (health & safety protocols)
and Morant (knee) out for Game 4
The Warriors are back in action at their San Francisco home for Game 4
of the Western Conference semifinals vs. Grizzlies

GAME ESSENTIALS: Grizzlies (56-26) vs. Warriors (53-29), at 7 p.m. (PT).
TV: TNT

ODDS: Warriors -9.5. OVER/UNDER: 222.5.

PLAYOFF SERIES: Warriors lead 2-1. LAST PLAYOFF MEETING: Warriors won
2015 second-round series 4-2.

The story of Game 3 should have been just how dominant the Warriors
looked on offense — and what an offensive effort it was.

But after the 142-112 win, the Grizzlies changed the narrative postgame
when they said Ja Morant was injured, and a play where Jordan Poole
appeared to grab at Morant’s knee was the play that caused it.

Morant’s deleted tweet that said “broke the code” also brought back
memories of Game 2, where Warriors coach Steve Kerr said that exact
thing toward Memphis’ Dillon Brooks after his Flagrant 2 foul of Gary
Payton II. Payton’s still out with a fractured elbow, but Brooks will
return in Game 4 after he was suspended for Game 3.

The questions surrounding Morant’s status — and whether Poole may have
caused the injury — are adding more fuel to the fire in this petty and
narrative-filled series. The young Grizzlies seem to really not like the
Warriors, who fired back with some shots of their own after the blowout
Game 3 win.

And in that blowout, the Warriors nearly set the record for most points
and best shooting percentage in a playoff game in their franchise’s
history, instead falling just one point and 1.5 percentage points short
of each record. It surely would be tough to do it again, but there was
plenty of room for improvement with their first half turnovers.

Will Morant play, even if not 100%? Will the pettiness and chirping from
this series continue, especially with Brooks back from his suspension?
And after such an incredible offense effort on Saturday, can the
Warriors replicate it on Monday and get to within one game away from the
Western Conference finals?

Follow along as reporters Madeline Kenney and Shayna Rubin and columnist
Dieter Kurtenbach break down those questions and more in Game 4 of the
Western Conference semifinals.
