re the fan vote on Thomas: The most watched game this season was the Giants Thanksgiving game at Dallas. And it was also Thomas' worst game as he had been battling the flu and had to face Parsons. Parsons, being a total asshole on n asshole team, of course ran his mouth afterwards which got a lot of media attention.

re Dexter Lawrence: he should be a starter, not an alternate, but Donald will get the votes despite being injured and missing games and not having his usual dominant year even before his injury.

re Barkley: OTOH, he is a known name. Should he be more than an alternate? I don't know, but as I wrote, his is a name often in the media.

I would like to know just the coaches vote....i bet they had Thomas as a starter.....the fans and other players tho you are right....just like baseball it is somewhat of a "popularity" contest and with the Giants not playing much on national TV PLUS this being Thomas' first year where PFF has him ranked....2nd last time i checked. Just like baseball sometimes its a year lag....plus pro bowl is a joke anyway, all-pro is where its at. Thats more of a yearly "hall of fame" vote if you will. But there is issues with that too because sportswriter have their own prejudices.
