Steph Curry, Draymond Green, Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins will sit
out for the Warriors’ game against the Pelicans on the latter half of a
road back-to-back Monday in New Orleans, head coach Steve Kerr said.

Thompson is coming off a 41-point game in Golden State’s first road win
in Houston on Sunday night and will sit out for injury management. The
32-year-old has not played both games in a back-to-back since his return
from Achilles and ACL surgeries last January.

Curry, who had 33 points and a thrilling rainbow dagger 3-pointer in
Sunday’s win, is listed with right elbow soreness and Green for lower
back injury management. Kevon Looney, who has played 128 straight games,
is probably to start with JaMychal Green ready to step into the starting
lineup should the team decide he won’t play.

Coincidentally, Curry, Thompson, Green and Wiggins sat out for the
Warriors’ game against New Orleans earlier this month, the final stop on
a five-city road trip in which the Warriors went winless. The Warriors
are choosing to rest the starters again with a challenge awaiting them
at Chase Center. They’ll return home to face the 10-7 Los Angeles
Clippers on Wednesday and first-place Utah Jazz (12-6) on Friday.

Rookies Patrick Baldwin Jr. and Ryan Rollins were recalled from Santa
Cruz and rejoined the team as needed reinforcements. With shallow depth
at big, notably the Warriors did not recall James Wiseman from Santa Cruz.

“We felt it was important for him to get a really good stretch in Santa
Cruz practicing,” Kerr said. “When you get attention in the G league
it’s easier to make progress than the stops and starts in the NBA when
you aren’t in rotation.”
