How about Fairly Ridiculous as a #16 seed and a 23.5 point underdog beating a #1 seed, Purdue. With both a #1 seed and and a #2 seed (Arizona) losing in the first round who knows if any of the millions of brackets are still perfect after only 1 round.

And how about an Ivy League school, Princeton, winning a first round game in both the men's and women's tournament.

Rutgers beat Purdue i think in january and they never even made the tournament....Purdue was considered a weak #1 i guess but no one saw this coming.....if the did and put money on it straight up thats a big pay day.

And Fairly Ridiculous should not even have been a #16 seed. They are in a conference that only qualifies their tournament winner. They lost their tournament finals, but the team that won was disqualified from the tournament, so Fairly Ridiculous went instead. And in addition, no team from their conference had ever won an NCAA tournament game previously.

And another #1 seed, Kansas, went down in the second round. Plus, all the talking heads on ESPN basically said Princeton beat Arizona because Arizona took them for granted and they would never beat Missouri. Well they beat Missouri by 15/ Thier largest lead was 21 while Missouri was only ahead for a very short while by a single point.

And another #1 seed, Alabama went down in the second round leaving only one #1 seed to even get to the Sweet 16!

And in the women's tournament, #1 seed Stanford lost. It was the first time a #1 seed in the women's tournament did not get to the Sweet 16 since 2009..

>
It was the first time a #1 seed in the women's tournament did not get to the Sweet 16 since 2009.
And even more remarkably a second #1 seed in the women's tournament did not get to the sweet 16. The last time that happened was 1998, last century! In the women's tournament, the top 4 seeds in each region get home games the first two rounds which makes these #1 seed losing even more remarkable.
