Let's not get ahead of ourselves, 2 wins out of 16. And there will have to be road wins. I know New Jersey is technically a road game, but there were a hell of a lot of Ranger fans in the stands.

If they get half way to the 16 wins, they will probably have to play Boston, a team that set records for both wins and points this season. And I remember the last time they played. The Bruins dominated them.

Nevertheless, I am looking forward to tonight's game and the playoffs as long as they keep playing. And if Shesterkin stays hot, they always have a chance to win.

Yes but contrast the start of these playoffs to last year, when the Rangers had to comeback and fight tooth and nail to reach the conference finals, and they ran out of gas eventually. It would make the road soooo much easier if they can dispense with the Devils in 5 or less. To me they just look so much deeper than the Devils.....Devils you stop Hughes good chance you win, Rangers are loaded, i dont care that the Devils finished slightly above in the standings, the regular season is ice capades compared to the playoff and Hughes is finding that out for the first time....

Meanwhile our leading goal scorer hasnt scored yet. It was nice to see the Devils finally join the NHL playoffs tho....

Playing defense is important, but you have to score goals also. And the best way is on the power play. In the first 2 games Kreider scored 2 power play goals each game; in game 3, frankly the power play sucked. And they lost.

What isnt misleading is the way the Rangers are playing defensive playoff hockey...thats 1 goal per game in regulation and as i said Devils are all Hughes, If they shut down Hughes Rangers win 1-0 and are up 3-0. yes OR you can say the devils PK sucked and now it finally looks like an NHL pk instead of practice for the Rangers. But most importantly is the way Rangers are playing D both PK and 5-5, Igor has played well but hasnt had to be spectacular...vs one of the best offenses in the league no less. That is the key to not only beating the devils but going all the way. And lets be honest after last year nothing short of a loss to the Bruins would be acceptable. People could quote the stupid coach speak "take one period at a time" all they want, but dems the fact jack.
