The most striking thing is how well the defense ranks in sacks (T-1st), takeaways (5th), opponents' 3rd down percentage (6th), and red zone defense (13th), yet they're still 31st in yards allowed and 27th in points allowed. They make some big plays but give up a lot more big plays.

Offense is top half of the league in all categories, and top 25% in fewest turnovers, red zone efficiency, yards gained, and points scored.

The Charger's defense tries to bump too much vs tackle. Start tackling
and the 31 will move up pretty quickly. Yeah it hurts but they get paid
to do it and they aren't.

The second part is they get pushed out of front defensive alignment too
easily. Both fixable with the personnel they have but not showing
improvement each game.

Offense is looking good, the OL needs some work. Need to protect the
ball better. Herbert looks different this year, maybe more assured. I
think Kellen Moore will be good for him.
