The possible Giants next QB is playing today at 3:30 espn. His name is Drake Maye from UNC they are playing Clemson....big dude proto type size.....the other pretenders are Caleb Williams USC (do not like the crying to mommy plus he seems to lose every big game he plays) and Micheal Penix Washington, he is a lefty....when was the last elite lefty? Steve Young 30 years ago?.....so im gonna keep my eye on this Maye kid.

Anyway whoever they draft will be redshirted behind DJ year 1....IFFFFF DJ stays healthy next year that is. Only thing that can mess this up is if Devito starts winning some games.....highly unlikley the way the d has been since the Leo trade....

I'm surprised that the Giants are already giving up on Daniel Jones
after just a few early season games, when at that point nobody on the
team was having a good year. He may not be the answer, but for $160M you
would think they'd be at least a little more patient.

Lets be honest, Daboll and Schoen thought they were gonna pick high THIS year but Jones thru a monkey wrench in their plans by doing what no one thought possible....bringing the giants a playoff win. Now fast forward to this year and Jones gets his 2nd neck injury and an ACL...he never really had a chance even when he was healthy the oline was that bad. he has big money coming next year anyhow so he will start while the rookie qb sits (assuming DJ stays healthy even)...but rest assured their will be a qb drafted high if Giants pick top 3 for sure.And if DJ plays well maybe he holds the kid off for a year or 2, but now Daboll and Schoen have THEIR boy and there will be a fast hook on Jones.

But IMO if you put DJ on a good team like the niners he could be better than Purdy, better than Garapalo...so if he plays well he may still be a starter for another team....if not he will be cut to save cap space and end his career as a backup, similar to Trubisky and Darnold...his guarentee was only 2 years from what i heard...at least the full guarentee

And think....how many QBs in the NFL are truly untouchable? A half dozen maybe? And it looks like Josh Allen may be falling from those ranks...i even heard a talking head say Allen is turning over the ball more this year than DJ did on his worst year!

Can you really consider drafting a left handed quarterback knowing his blind side would be "protected" by Neal?

and even besides that their have been so few elite lefties and none recently....unless one slips my mind...Brunell was good that was most recent one....and you are talking mid 2000s
