I’m too lazy to compile it but IMO the relevant time frame for current
discussion is after vaccines became widely available. I really have no idea
how FL would compare to other states in that measure but it makes sense to
me. The pre-vaccine pandemic and the post-vaccine pandemic are two
different eras IMO.

Based on what appear to be seasonal effects, I think any fair comparison is going to have to go at least 1 year. So maybe April 1, 2021 to April 1, 2022 to account for both vaccines and seasonality. I'm fully expecting the current wave in the south to drop and a wave to pick up in the northeast, just like last year. However, the northeast has some of the highest vaccination rates in the nation, so that should mute it somewhat.

Has anyone done an age-adjusted COVID death rate analysis
recently? I see numbers all the way up until the new
administration took over the CDC.

I know that as of January, California's age-adjusted death rate was
way higher than that of Florida. The current administration might start
releasing that data again if Florida continues its surge...
