the headliner game this week is Oregon at Ohio State. Iowa/ISU is a game of regional import that maybe a few people outside that area may have interest in.

Overall it's a fairly slow weekend in terms of 'big games', but the headline game is clearly the Ohio State game. Then next week it's Bama at Florida first(auburn-penn state second). last week it was Georgia/Clemson(alabama-miami second).

#12 at #3 with #3 being a 14.5 point favorite
#10 at #9 with #9 being a 4.5 point favorite

Yeah, if I had to only choose one, I'd watch the second one. Of course, what I actually watch is going to be governed by several external factors.

Ohio St is my most confident victor in the cfpool this week. My least confident pick is Tenn over Pitt. I think the Johnny Majors Bowl could be a low key good game this week. Not in terms of impact on playoff rankings, obviously, but in terms of a close matchup between two somewhat competent teams.

Who cares about AP rankings at this point anyways??

That said, it is the second best game of the week imo. So yeah I like that game. Texas has more marquee of course and there is genuine interest in seeing if they are going to actually be good, but Arkansas is not
very good so even though it is only like a 6.5 pt line that takes away from it. So I have ISU-Iowa above the texas game. So I never said Iowa-ISU is a 'bad' game; so not sure where your complaint is. Oregon-Ohio State is just
a better more marquee game because it involves Ohio State and between the four teams being discussed(Iowa, ISU, Oregon, tOSU), Ohio State is clearly the alpha so that game gets top billing......

Also Jim, I don't know if you have been paying attention the last month or so, but the 'if this was two sec teams' argument isn't a very good one because....well....of course if it were two
sec teams it would be a bigger deal- the sec has come to dominate the sport and that's got so many people in a fury. That's what triggered this 'alliance' nonsense. The entire college football
news cycle since the Oklahoma/Texas news has been how the SEC is no longer just a top conference but really defines the landscape of college football going forward.

So given that, of course when two top sec teams play its going to be a defining game. For better or worse, that's our future.....

hey, I live in Portland, right? In the pac-8 prediction contest (maybe it's pac-10...I'm sure it's not pac-12) I sadly (because it made me sad) predicted a final score of Ohio State 41, Oregon 17.

I also picked Texas A&M over Colorado (Buffs currently up 7-0) and TCU over Cal (Cal up 12-0 now). Maybe the Pac-12 isn't quite as bad as we thought. Or maybe Ohio State isn't as good. They struggled last week against Minnesota, now this today. Still, I'm recovering, calming down now. This college football is nerve-wracking! (except for Alabama fans)
