I finished 48th this week and somehow dropped from 73rd to 106th in the standings. I think it has something to do with the two worst weeks being subtracted from the total score.

That's always been my problem with football pickem contests...when October and november hit, I'm so tired from 100 plus hour weeks I will forget one or two and then all my work was moot.

When I was entering the CFPOOL, I found that I was spending an hour or two every Friday evening researching teams I knew little about and comparing games that I didn’t care much about. I just got tired of spending the time for a small chance of minor glory. It wasn’t fun anymore. I can still look with some satisfaction in winning one week and finishing 8th one year, but usually I was 30th or lower. I don’t miss it.

I still do a PAC-12 picks contest and now that we’re in the conference season, the workload is very manageable.
