I said I'd be impressed if they covered against Arkansas. They did. Color me impressed. That win against Clemson still looking sluggish.

Georgia’s offense was more than sluggish against Clemson. It was downright bad. However, Clemson does appear to have one of the best defenses in the country. Georgia also has an elite defense, but it remains to be seen what kind of QB play they’re going to get against teams like Florida and Auburn. Some guy named Stetson Bennett ($1 to mia) looked ok against the Hogs, but he didn’t really have to do a lot.

lol....you can't destroy the opposition in *ever single game*. They and Alabama are looking to do pretty darn close to that though.

I can't remember a season where it was so obvious this early on to everyone(you aren't seeing anyone dispute the idea now) who the clear two best teams in the country are and how much they have distanced themselves from everyone else. Maybe 2011 I guess; thats the closest parallel and those two teams ended up meeting everyone twice. It certainly looks like that is going to happen again.

By the time they play Alabama in the sec title game, JT should be clearly back. Now he is something of a question mark...but he obviously has more upside than Stetson.

Even so this isn't close to the same Georgia team that Stetson qb'd last year in losing to Florida. There is only *one* game where JT is needed to beat the opposition....and thats the Bama game.

This georgia team just beat the #8 team in the country 34-0 and made it look like they were playing an FCS team. These teams like Cincinatti or Iowa or Penn State or Oklahoma who they may meet in the semifinal game are not going to compete with georgia. Hell last year Cincinatti still managed to lose to a georgia team who like 8 starters opted out for the bowl game for various reasons(injuries, draft, etc) and wasnt 10% what this georgia team is.

The question on everyone's mind- If JT is healthy and Georgia and Alabama are both healthy(minus Allen of course), what is the line on a neutral field?

And the answer is Alabama -3 or -3.5. That has shrunk based on what Georgia did to Arkansas(a word I can't even type).

So assuming JT is healthy and nothing changes between here and now, Alabama is going to be about a fg favorite. And honestly most of that is probably just due to Kirby's tendency to get conservative and punt on 4th and 3 from the opponents 45 lol.

The line between georgia/alabama and everyone else is *massive* on a neutral site. Take Iowa for example. On a neutral site they like 17 pt underdogs lol to Alabama. Every single team minus ohio state vs georgia is a double digit dog against these teams. And that's like -9......every other team in the bigten georgia is at least a 13 pt favorite over on a neutral field and bama a 16/17 pt favorite.

I just don't recall a season in which there was every this much distance between the top 2 teams this early. When USC and Texas had that classic 1/2 national title game, there were some manageable lines for both teams. The USC/ND line wasn't huge(and was down to wire in real life), and the ohio state/texas line was very small...like -3 I believe if that.

This season you wouldnt have any close lines between georgia/bama and any other team.
