He really does need the jump parties, give the R's the Senate, and then that opens up options for Biden and Harris.

Also I prefer to direct my blame at Cal Cunningham. If he hadn’t blown a
very winnable race by not being able to keep it in his pants, Joe Manchin
wouldn’t be the fulcrum he is now.

Finally from a personal point of view, the death of BBB is better for me
($1 to mia I guess) because it had a clause in it to eliminate the mega
backdoor Roth 401k, which is a maneuver I use to the max.

Then it would be Kyrsten Sinema, Jon Tester, and Mark Kelly. Manchin
is doing nothing but being a lightning rod to deflect the strikes that
they would have to take. Which is why it would be beyond stupid for
Schumer to force a vote on the bill. I assume therefore that 1)
Schumer is making the noises he is to fend off a progressive in the
primary and 2) that he will find a convenient excuse not to vote.

What is bizarre is that progressives ever thought you could an
historically costly wide ranging bill passed with near the narrowest
majority in Congressional history. They are delusional.

It's clear that what a lot of Republicans want to vote for is, quite simply, to get it on.

Inflation is like a slow leak on the balloon of debt we have created.

I'd blame the older people who are benefitting from it, except that it
is the young liberals and poor people who voted for the policies that
created it. If the adults had been able to balance the budget as their
votes tended toward, we wouldn't be having this problem.

Watching the rabid froth-at-the-mouth reaction from Democrats I wonder
if everyone with a D by their name is dishonest, or maybe just stupid?

leadership, who have pushed a bill that is extraordinarily front-
loaded and laden with expiring programs."

I heard him specifically say that three months ago. This trick is not
subtle, and it was exposed by the CBO score. Instead of actually
paying attentione to Manchin, the Democrats have offered and counter-
offered him the exact same bill over and over again with minor
cosmetic changes. Are all democratic activists stupid? Or
obtuse?

Perhaps they live the rest of their lives in this mode -- listen to
someone's objections and then just yell the same thing louder.
