I somehow have three SEC teams in my final four, and I’m not talking about softball or football. It certainly wasn’t my intention. The only thing I was sure about when I started filling out my bracket was that Gonzaga was going to be in my final four. I lean heavily on computer models but I also look at the “people’s bracket”. As a pool winning strategy, I’ll avoid picking some favorites according to the models, if it looks like too many people are picking them, (Hi Duke!) That’s generally the only time I pick upsets in my bracket. Of course, there’s some subjectivity in choosing which of those upsets I go with, so that probably explains how I ended up with so many SEC teams.

Go Gonzaga (and Tennessee and Kentucky and Auburn)!

I did a smart thing this year and didn't do a bracket. But I hope yours wins.

I've given up doing a bracket, but I do participate in a family pool in
which I risk $8 to win $64. Some in the group weren't happy with my draw:

16. Norfolk State
2. Duke
2. Auburn
2. Villanova (if your next pick was the 4th 2 seed, we were going to cry
foul!)
8. San Diego St.
6. Texas
4. Arkansas
3. Tennessee

I only had two in the final 4 but one was Kentucky. I also had Alabama going to the elite 8, so the SEC has cost me a lot of points so far. But the one I picked to be upset - Arkansas - came through in their win over Vermont.

Confirmed, an idot. So am I. The only SEC team I didn't have doing anything? Arkansas.

Tennessee - national champs
Kentucky - runners up
Auburn - elite 8
Alabama - elite 8

Yeah, the SEC cost me more than any other conference in terms of wrongness this year. At least all my homer MWC picks only cost be 1 first round game each.

My East Region is a complete wipeout. Doing better elsewhere and my
champion (Kansas) is still alive.

Ironically if I had been a stronger ACC homer I’d be doing much better than
I am.

I didn't have a bracket this year, which has saved me heartburn. But if I had had one I'd have had USC still playing, UCLA gone.

I've got a feeling Gonzaga and Arizona aren't getting past their next games..

In most years, I'd do multiple brackets and enter them into the same pool. With my normal pool sources gone this year, I just entered my bracket into Jay Furr's contest and then a 1-on-1 against my wife. She's toasting me. And how does she pick winners? PA teams first, and then things like Richmond? That's where our one good friend did a visiting assistant professorship one year, so I'll pick them...
